Single gamers

I went through some life changes and figured I would update this as necessary, here goes:

My name is still Rich, and I am still single and a gamer. What has changed is that I am now 23 (woohoo) and I am no longer a student. Having achieved my B.S. in Computer Engineering and B.A. in Religion Studies I have departed the world of school for the world of real and am gainfully employed in upstate New York.

I am a computer programmer by day and a gamer by night. Tonight, for instance, I'll be at FNM at a local comic store. Tomorrow? Who knows.

Unfortunately I have no internet at home yet so my FFXI addiction is going unchecked. I have been trying to satiate it with Magic the Gathering and Comic Books but they have been of no help.

I needs me some PS3 and some FFXII. Mmmmmm....

That's all for now...

Oy! Just came across this.  Name is Bill.  I am 23, and I'm in Columbus (Grove City to be more precise), Ohio.  Recovering Final Fantasy XI addict just biding my time until XII comes out.  Been playing video games longer than some of my family members have been alive.  Got into D&D back in ~7th grade. Haven't found anyone in the area to start a game though.  I enjoy 3.5, but I could pick up a 2E game given enough time to look through the books (and patience from party members as I ask, "Um, oh crap.  How do I figure my resistance against that?" for the 20th time).  Any other questions, ask away.

Hello, I'm 20 (2.5 months from 21) and I'm a male gamer in North East Philadelphia-ish.

I left college when I got my CompTIA A+ Certification (which has done jack shit for me but I now have a corporate job so I can look into getting into the IT department as soon as an opening comes up). I still live like a college student in terms of vices ;) I guess you could say I'm torn between where I'm at and where I feel I'm at emotionally and in terms of my life experiences.

I'm an aspiring, but hopefully not pretentious, writer (I'd like to write a screenplay eventually, to add to my growing collection of lyrical poetry) and in about a month I'm going down to South Carolina to record an indie rock album with a childhood friend of mine. If you'd like to subject your ears to horrible college band music of my past, feel free to roll over to www.purevolume.com/papercutmasterpiece I did vocals and lyrics, but they aren't as great as they could be, we were only together for a month and we never really felt each other out.

Anyways, back to the gaming thing. I own a Gamecube, PS2, and Xbox. The PS2 has swap disks, and the Xbox is modded. I love emulation so when I say Xbox there's an assumed Xbox(NES/SNES/Genesis/GBA/MS-DOS/Commodore64/AppleII/Etc).

I just built a new computer for the sole purpose of playing next-gen games without having to buy next-gen systems (I'm still going to grab a Wii). So currently FEAR and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion are my companions with a few bouts of Black And White 2 and Doom 3: Resurrection Of Evil.

It's "stats" are as follows.

P4 3.0 gHz 2mb cache 800mhz fsb with hyper-threading
Geforce 7800 GS AGP (manufactured by XFX and overclocked by me)
1 gb 400mhz RAM (next expenditure is going to be getting at least 2 more gigs)

And I've dabbled in Dungeons and Dragons and Vampire: The Masquerade but I haven't had the initiative to start any groups myself or dig too deep into any of the books.

So there you go. I guess that's me and my gaming status.

Oh wait... Favorite game of all time.

Final Fantasy VI

Hey folks. I just found this community today, and it seems like a great idea.

A little about myself...

I'm 22, female, and a waitress who dreams of something more. I'm a sewing fanatic (ugh, cosplay... go ahead, judge me!) and I dabble in digital art. I pass what little free time I have with a dash of anime and a pinch of reading. I'm particularly fond of brain-meltingly stupid fiction. As for gaming, I tend to stick to console stuff. RPGs in particular. Final Fantasy owns my soul, but that pretty much goes without saying.

My favorite games, you ask?

Final Fantasy VII
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Devil May Cry (the first. Three is fun, but it's beating me down pretty hard.)
Tomb Raider (so far the first one still holds its spot as my favorite in the series, but I recently picked up Legend, so we'll see.)
Kingdom Hearts (so much love for this game. In fact, my current cosplay project is Halloween Town Sora.)
Eternal Darkness

Of course, I've got a bit more under my belt than that, but those are pretty much the highlights of my mild gaming experience. I'm not big on MMORPGs, PC games, or table top gaming (though I have been known to kick some ass at Settlers of Catan... if that counts.) I pretty much stick to PS2 or Xbox.

I'm currently playing FFX (yeah, I know, I'm behind the times) but I've got a ton of games I'd like to eventually make time for. Lucky for me my roommate is an avid gamer and has more games than you could shake a fist at. Works out well.

Anyway, nice to meet everyone. Now back to your regularly scheduled gaming.

WoW Personals? [Apr. 11th, 2006|11:22 am]
Single gamers

I started up a classifieds site for WoW players. Includes a personals section. Thought it might be a cool way to meet people who also play WoW... possibly for dating or friendship purposes!

Includes an event calendar, forums, guild listings, etc. Just setting it up now but check it out.

I don't mean to spam, just thought the people here might find it useful. THANKS!

23 year old girl gamer here. I've been addicted to LoZ* since I was about 6 or 7...I mainly enjoy console Rpg's. I currently play WoW and I have played FFXI and the old school text-based muds in the past. I have my BS in psychology...uhm I'm back in school since I'm pursuing an MD so I can go into the Psychiatry field. I'm into everything people consider 'nerdy,' anime, fantasy novels, D&D, I <3 computers~, etc. etc.

Currently playing: Skies of Arcadia (for the 4th time ._.) and Golden Sun ^-^

*LoZ == Legend of Zelda (just in case some of you are primarily sega boys/girls or pc gamers)

I'm a 25 year old female and I just started playing World of Warcraft this week as Aelysa on the Thorium Brotherhood server. I've also played Tibia, Runescape and Conquer Online. I installed EQ 1 but I hated it within 5 minutes of loading it up. It lags horribly for me. I love World of Warcraft though even though some of my friends in Tibia are disappointed. I've played Tibia for 4 years and honestly am bored beyond reason with it.

In real life I work with children and have an associate degree in Early Childhood Development and have applied to get a Bachelor's degree in Human Development through a distance degree program.

Important stats: I'm a 19 year-old gay male, I'm a college student majoring in English with a minor in Criminal Justice, and I currently live in South Orange, NJ.

I have a terrible tendency to procrastinate for one. I do much better with a specific question to answer, so IM me (Enaronia on either AIM or Yahoo!) if you really want to know, but I'll try to come up with something.

I say that I'm crazy and random, but that's certainly not to say that I'm wild, or that I'm not boring. It means that I have interesting quirks, an eclectic group of friends, a disregard for caring whether people are looking at me funny (at least I try to; I'm not perfect), and that I would be insulted to be called "normal" or "ordinary". It also means that I can talk about random things, change the subject to something completely different for no apparent reason, and return to subjects that we previously wandered away from days later as though the old conversation had never ended.

As for gaming, I do some video gaming and I have some interest in online games, but I'm cheap. I'm into DnD, D20 Modern, and Magic: The Gathering and open to learning other role-playing or card games. Nobody that I know around here is really interested, so I mostly play and DM DnD online. I also enjoy board or card games when someone else wants to play.

My friends are extremely important to my life. Sometimes I use the word "friend" rather loosely to refer to pretty much anyone I know, but at other times it can be very specific, referring to a very small group of people with whom I am very close. They've always been there for me and I try to do the same for them.

I have to admit that I've never actually been in a relationship. And that most of this is copy/pasted from my OKCupid profile.

Hmm, that seems like a good example of my randomness, actually.
